I love procrastination. I think my deepest thoughts while I’m procrastinating! I start to think about the meaning of life, and if I’m living the right way. My favorite procrastination rant is when I start to talk myself out of school. I’m always like, “Are you meant to be here….like really meant to be here? You could be off in a foreign land experiencing life and dancing in the wind…you don’t need school!” I have that conversation with myself at least once a week. Senioritis is a real life thing ladies and gents! However, we’re too close to give up now! So pick your head up, and twirl in to that library! #almostdone #dontstopgetitgetit
I no longer believe in homework. Professors expect to have my attention at home AND in class….stop being so selfish! I’m a senior, I’ve paid my dues. My time off should be spent on developing and planning my future…yes there is life after undergrad, and I’m ready for it.
I avoid people at all cost. Solitude is an unspoken and accepted rule your senior year. It’s not that I don’t want new friends…it’s just that I don’t have time for them. Take a look at your graduating class. You’re not too fond of most of them are you? Lol It's ok not to be! By senior year, everyone has a silent love/hate/respect relationship! We love each other because we’ve experienced the last few years together, we hate each other because of the events of the last few years, and we respect each other for making it to the finish line. It’s senior year, surround yourself by who you WANT to be surrounded by; live life the way you WANT to live it! If you don’t want any new friends, enjoy the few that you have now while y’all are stuck in this crazy mind-screw we call school.
Random Person: “So…. what are you doing after graduation?”
Me: “So….when are you going to mind your freaking business?”
Lol I don’t understand why constantly asking me what I’m going to do for the REST OF MY LIFE is a thing. Let me live! Seniors are pressured to choose our life path now, when in reality we can’t. I don’t know who I want to be tomorrow, let alone 10 years. Just because school is coming to an end doesn’t mean that I need to rush into my next chapter in life. We should be allowed to wander. Sometimes we need to get lost in order to find ourselves. Let us find ourselves.
I will never bash freshmen. Nothing you do freshmen year should be held against you. My freshman year was horrible. I was surrounded by toxic people, and I lost myself. So I understand how crazy that time may be. However, seniors have this confident aura about them that just says “BOW DOWN!” We’ve lived a little and learned a lot! So yes…I Beyoncé twirl as I enter the business school. Why, you may sk? Because I can! *snaps in Z formation*
You Only Graduate Once! So have fun during senior year. YOGO is my excuse for everything! Do you have a test tomorrow, but there’s a concert in a nearby city? YOGO! Do you have a paper due at midnight but Netflix is calling your name? YOGO! It may be another form of procrastination.. but it’s true! You only get to live this time in your life once. So be young, be beautiful, and be free! You’re not gonna remember that blackboard quiz that was only .3% of your grade, but you’ll remember that amazing road trip you randomly took instead of it! Do your work, BUT live your life!
My friends and I are boring bums….and extremely proud of it! I’ve noticed a trend of seniors doing nothing...for fun. We’ve already had our drunken nights, and made memories that we slightly regret. We just wanna chill now! So order a pizza, open that cheap bottle of wine, pick a Netflix series to binge on, and enjoy the presence of your friends. . It’s senior year, the last year you will have a chance to really get to know the people who surround you today. Slow it down a little.
